Content last reviewed: · Source-backed guide, updated as needed

Anyone living in or visiting Northern Cyprus should be able to find essential emergency telephone numbers quickly. The numbers below have been compared with the official contact details published by the TRNC Police.

Emergency contact numbers

Service Telephone
Ambulance / medical emergency 112
Police emergency 155
Fire service 199
Forest fire reporting 177
Civil defence 101
Coastguard 158

In a real emergency, call the appropriate service without delay. Give your location, explain what has happened and, if possible, provide a number where you can be called back.

District police offices

For non-emergency enquiries, contact the relevant district police office. The Police publish up-to-date contact information for Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt and İskele. As numbers may change, see the official police contact directory rather than relying on a copied list.

What should you save on your phone?

  • Keep 112, 155 and 199 within easy reach.
  • Save your home, work or accommodation address and practical directions to it.
  • Keep important medical documents and an emergency contact available.
  • Make sure children and visitors know which number to use for each service.
